Early life and background

Alyx Star was born on 7 September 1998 in San Francisco, California. Several secondary sources instead place her birth in Portland, Oregon, and that disagreement is documented in full on the disambiguation page, since it is the kind of detail that gets copied and recopied without anyone checking.

Before entering the industry she worked as a barista, a nanny, and an aesthetician, and she trained for and obtained her aesthetics licence. She has described the decision to enter adult performance as a deliberate one taken with her mother's advice: she wanted to do it at eighteen, and waited a few more years to be sure she was ready. She started at twenty-one.

Entry into the industry

Alyx Star made her professional debut in 2019 with Net Video Girls, a studio she would later also be credited under as "Alyx (NVG Network)" — the name she is listed with for that period of her career. That same year she appeared in the feature Freaky Fembots 4.

Within roughly two years she was working for several of the larger American studio networks, including Reality Kings, which is credited with establishing her profile nationally, alongside work for Brazzers, Naughty America, and Evil Angel.

Girl/girl work and industry recognition

The part of her career that attracted the most attention was girl/girl work, and it is where her award recognition sits. Between 2021 and 2022 she held exclusive contracts with studios including Girlfriends Films, for a six-month all-female deal, and Evil Angel and Brazzers Exxtra. In July 2022 she was named Nubiles Flavor of the Month, which is a studio-audience vote rather than an industry award body, but a meaningful marker of visibility within the network she was working in.

Alyx Star Productions

In 2021 she founded her own production company, Alyx Star Productions. Running a production imprint is a normal step for a performer with an established audience: it moves the business relationship with studios from a per-title contract to something she controls, and it gives her a route to release material that no studio would greenlight.

She continued producing and releasing through her own imprint alongside her studio work into 2025, while also maintaining a direct subscription channel for her audience. The dual studio-plus-independent model was standard for performers at her stage of career in the late 2010s onward.

Later work

She appeared in studio series including Cake: Vol. 3 and Teen Curves in 2023. Her database credit record lists her years active as 2019 to 2024, and her mainstream studio work is generally described as having wound down around 2023, with her own channel and production work continuing afterwards.
