Corrections and updates
How to report an error, how to add or correct a credit, and what this site will not publish even from the subject.
A biography that will not show its corrections is not a biography. This page is the mechanism, and it is the change log.
What gets corrected
Any factual error, and any claim that outruns its source. That includes errors of our own, which matter most, because a reader who finds one has no way to know how many others are in the same page.
What can be added
Credit and biographical detail that meets the sourcing bar on the sources page: a first-party statement on a channel the subject demonstrably controls, an authoritative third-party record, or two genuinely independent corroborating sources with at least one that had a reason to be wrong.
When something is added, this page records what changed, when, and what the previous version said. Silently editing a biography leaves no way for a reader to tell that a correction ever happened, and in a subject where most corrections are quiet, that transparency is the point.
How to report an error
Say which page, which sentence, and what the correct information is with a source that can be checked. Factual corrections with a checkable source are the easiest kind to action, and they are welcome whether or not you are the performer.
If you are Alyx Star or can show that you are, corrections carry more weight and get handled with more care. Two constraints still apply. Claims are published only where they can be sourced, so a request to add a credit or a detail cannot be actioned on assertion alone — a page that publishes whatever anyone says about themselves is a page anyone can impersonate, and control of an account is the usual way to establish that. And no private personal data is published on request where doing so would create a safety risk, which is a standing limit rather than a judgement on any individual request.
What is not changed on request
- Unsourced biographical detail, including anything from an aggregator or fan wiki.
- Accurate information because it is unflattering. Accuracy and tone are separate questions, and tone is our problem to fix.
- A link to any social or subscription account whose ownership cannot be established. The reasoning is in disambiguation, and it is a practical one rather than a moral position.
- A public accusation of wrongdoing without documentation. A page that labels people without evidence does the same damage as a page that fabricates bios about them, and the database guide covers what actually supports a negative conclusion.
Change log
Rebuild. This site was previously published as a general verification guide with no subject information. It was rebuilt as a sourced biography of Alyx Star once primary industry records were located, and the earlier placeholder pages were removed rather than left in place.
Birthplace. San Francisco, California is used, on the strength of the Internet Adult Film Database record and the Wikidata entry citing it. The widely repeated Portland, Oregon attribution is documented as disputed on the disambiguation page rather than dropped silently.
